
After a record-breaking financial year, leading South West law firm Stephens Scown is also celebrating the promotion of 14 colleagues, including four Partners, four Senior Associates, and six Associates across a range of specialist areas and spanning all three of its offices in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.
Promoted to Partner are Jeremy Crook, a trusted advisor in the Dispute Resolution team, Becky Pickford from the Intellectual Property team, who supported Thatchers in its recent High Court appeal win against supermarket giant Aldi, Kai Whicker, a specialist in the Family team, and Jade Kent from the Corporate team, who is also a key member of the firm’s Healthcare team.
Speaking about his promotion, Jeremy said, “This gives me an opportunity to have input into the development and direction of the firm. Personally, I’m working at a place I love and it’s nice to be at a business that acknowledges what you bring and offer.”
For Becky, her promotion is proof of the development and progress on offer at the firm. “I am extremely proud and excited to be a Partner. It is something I never dreamt of when I first started at the firm as a receptionist nearly 12 years ago, and I need to say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way.”
Kai added, “I’m pleased to be part of a great firm. I relocated to work here at Stephens Scown and know that it’s where my future will be spent, and I’m humbled to be promoted to Partner.”
On her promotion, Jade said, “I am delighted to be made Partner and have my hard work within the firm recognised. I am looking forward to marketing the firm’s services to the wider market at a higher level.”

Those promoted to Senior Associate includes Katie Allen and Paige Prideaux from the Real Estate team, Kate Evans from the Dispute Resolution team, and Sinéad Lowry from the Planning team.

Making the step up to Associate are Nicola Hall from the Dispute Resolution team, James Snell, Jess Lewis and Brittany Allen from the Real Estate team, alongside George Demirev and Olivia Miller from the Corporate team.
