Monica is a trainee solicitor currently in the final stage of her training with the Intellectual Property, Data Protection and Technology team.
Monica assists in advising clients in the realm of trade mark protection, offering comprehensive guidance to clients across diverse industries in both the UK and international spheres and dealing with the day to day management of trade mark portfolios.
Monica is also experienced in advising on copyright matters pertaining to the Film and Publishing sectors, as well as assisting with advice on franchise agreements.
Monica joined Stephens Scown in January 2022 and is due to qualify in April 2024.
Monica has experience in the Dispute Resolution area. During her university years, she dedicated her time to pro bono work, gaining valuable experience in Dispute Resolution at the Access to Justice Clinic. Additionally, she completed an 11 month seat with the firm’s Commercial Dispute Resolution team before transitioning to Family Law for her second seat.
She is Co-Chair of the Charity Committee and a member of the Exeter Young Professionals group.
Monica has a degree from the University of Exeter and completed the LPC with the University of Law at the Exeter Campus, achieving a distinction.
Outside of work, Monica enjoys rainy afternoons at coffee shops reading. She also enjoys long walks on Dartmoor and the occasional evening climbing.
