Visitors to this year’s Devon County Show have named the local farming and food and drink businesses that they love. A survey carried out by Stephens Scown at the show asked visitors about their favourite food and drink brand, farm shop and farm attraction, as well as asking what people enjoyed most about the region.

The survey, which had 480 responses, forms part of the firm’s Love Where You Live campaign – a celebration of the best things about the South West.

Luscombe Drinks was the most popular local food and drinks brand, with Otter Brewery and Westaway Sausages coming second and third.

Gabriel David of Luscombe Drinks said: “It is an honour to have been voted the most popular food and drink brand from Devon by show visitors. We are lucky to live in a county which has an extraordinary amount of top class food and drink producers. My team will be very pleased to hear this news.”

Darts Farm, Topsham proved to be the favourite farm shop for Devon County Show visitors this year. Greendale Farm Shop near Farringdon was second and Riverford Organic Farmers was third.

South Devon’s Pennywell Farm was the most popular farm attraction in the survey, followed by the Devon County Show itself and Crealy Adventure Park.

When it came to the best thing about living in Devon, there was a clear winner which was the fantastic beaches and never being far from the sea.

Susie Murray, partner at Stephens Scown in Exeter and head of Devon’s rural team said: “As part of our Love Where You Live campaign our staff have been sharing their favourite things to see and do in Devon. It is interesting to add to that by seeing what came out on top for visitors to the county’s biggest agricultural show. It serves as a reminder of the great food and drink and farming businesses right here on our doorstep.”
