Recycling

Waste and Recycling

The waste and recycling sector can be complex and tricky to navigate when it comes to regulatory compliance, enforcement mitigation, permitting regulations, planning, and health and safety.

We’re strong advocates of the sector, and have wide-ranging experience advising on its legal requirements, challenges and opportunities. Our advice is clear and straightforward, and tailored to each client’s individual and specific needs.

Expert legal guidance through ever-changing legislation and regulation

Increasingly, regulation demands we deal more efficiently with waste and maximise recycling initiatives, and this can present local authorities, waste collection companies and landfill operators with unique and complex challenges – but also significant opportunities.

Identifying and making the most of those challenges and opportunities is far easier and more effective with legal expertise from a law firm that understands the sector’s defining characteristics and its regulatory landscape.

A dedicated, capable and approachable team

Our Waste and Recycling team has worked on issues ranging from enforcement mitigation to planning, permitting, and health and safety. We’re experienced in standard and bespoke environmental permitting work, and familiar with the problems faced by energy-from-waste (EfW) projects. We’re also experts at advising on, mitigating and resolving anaerobic digestion (AD) planning problems.

As well as invaluable experience helping clients put in place the regulatory documentation required for these projects, our specialist construction lawyers can provide advice on all types of waste plant construction contracts, and step in with skilled guidance if things go wrong.
