Leading South West law firm Stephens Scown has advised Outreach Talent Group (OTG) on its acquisition by global entertainment company THE·TEAM, in a deal that reflects the growing maturity and commercial value of the creator economy.
Stephens Scown has worked with OTG since the business was established in 2021, supporting its growth through legal advice tailored to the creator economy. Intellectual Property and Data Protection Partner and influencer law specialist Amy Ralston and Corporate Partner Jade Kent led the legal team advising founder Emilio Arciniega, alongside Corporate Partner Giles Dunning, Employment Partner Laura McFadyen and Solicitor Molly Ripley.
Founded by Emilio and Amy Arciniega, OTG has grown into an award-winning talent agency representing creators, entertainers and public figures across media, entertainment and sport in both the UK and US. Under the acquisition, Emilio will join THE·TEAM as Senior Vice President, Creators, while continuing to represent OTG’s roster of talent.
Amy believes the transaction reflects a broader trend within the rapidly evolving creator economy.
“Businesses operating in the creator economy have become increasingly sophisticated over recent years. The sector is attracting significant investment and acquisition activity, as the value of creator-led brands, intellectual property and audience engagement becomes more widely recognised.
“We have had the pleasure of supporting Emilio and the OTG team since the business was founded and have seen first-hand the impressive growth they have achieved.
“This transaction involved extensive commercial, intellectual property, employment and data protection considerations, supported by the wider team, including, Eleanor Stevens, Becky Pickford, Thomas Chartres-Moore, Mia Beavis, Max Miliffe and Jessica Connery. Their efforts were instrumental in helping the transaction complete successfully.
“The acquisition is a strong example of how creator businesses are evolving into highly valuable commercial enterprises with international reach. We expect to see continued growth and consolidation across the sector as businesses look to scale, expand internationally and access new opportunities.
“We are delighted to have supported Emilio on this important milestone and look forward to continuing our relationship as the business enters its next chapter.”
The transaction further strengthens Stephens Scown’s position as a holistic legal adviser to creators, talent agencies and other businesses operating within the creator economy. Its multidisciplinary team provides specialist, commercially focused advice across the full lifecycle of a creator business, including corporate transactions, intellectual property, data protection, commercial arrangements and employment matters.
