Careers – Apprenticeships

Here at Stephens Scown we realise that not everyone wants to go to University and are looking for alternatives to starting or developing their career. With a wide range of apprenticeships on offer including Solicitors, Paralegals and Digital Marketers, as well as Business Administrators, an apprenticeship scheme could be just right for you.

What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship combines work and training that offers the same career destinations as university but avoids the expensive fees. It allows you to combine work and study by mixing on-the-job training with structured learning by an external training provider. You will earn a competitive salary, enjoy all our standard benefits including 25 days holiday, birthday day off, pension, life assurance and of course the opportunity to become part of our Scownership.

Apprenticeships are perfect for all people whether you are  at the start of your career or looking to progress in your current role.

What kinds of apprenticeship do we offer?

We currently have apprentices studying towards the following standards :

Solicitor/ Digital Marketer /

Business Administrator / Paralegal

But we are constantly developing and working with our teams to discuss what would help them take the skill set in their teams to the next level and continue to develop their people so keep an eye on our vacancies.

Our apprentices learn lots of interesting and relevant  information whilst at work that they can take with them to college and vice versa, including;

  • what it is really like to work in a professional services
  • tips and tricks from those experienced in the role
  • how to be an effective part of a team
  • all important communication skills
  • how to organise yourself and your time

It really is blended learning at its best!

“Here in the South West, there are many businesses that have seen the benefits of investing in apprenticeship programmes. Businesses who have successfully invested in talented individuals wanting to develop a career, bringing new ideas, who can be moulded to reflect the standards and culture of the business. Businesses who have invested in long term training and development planning, bespoke to the industry, helping to tackle any skills shortages being faced.”
