Tamsin is a solicitor in the Family team, specialising in the financial aspects of relationship breakdown. Since joining in 2020 and qualifying into the Family team in 2023, she has experience advising clients on a wide range of financial issues including:

  • Financial settlements, including those involving pensions and business assets.
  • Contested financial remedy proceedings.
  • Enforcement applications.
  • Supporting clients behind the scenes whilst they utilise alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation or arbitration.
  • Child maintenance.

Tamsin advises clients on all aspects of divorce and finances, including cases concerning substantial company assets, defined benefit pensions, pre-or-post nuptial agreements, pre-marital wealth, and inheritance. She also works as part of the firm’s specialist Rural team, supporting clients in the sector.

Her experience has seen Tamsin work on numerous matters, including:

  • Applying for interim maintenance on behalf of a client from their spouse, to ensure that they can meet their everyday living costs before a financial settlement has been reached.
  • Advising clients who have been a victim of domestic violence and financial control.
  • Protecting pre-martial assets and inheritance and concluding a settlement that meets the parties’ needs without involving non-matrimonial assets.
  • Representing clients seeking pension sharing orders in respect of their spouse’s public sector pensions.
  • Representing a client whose spouse failed to disclosure their assets and income, helping them receive full and frank disclosure to ensure a fair settlement.
  • Successfully defending an application to vary a court-imposed court order which ensured the original capital and maintenance provisions were protected for benefit of her client.
  • Representing clients where there are significant capacity issues involving the use of a litigation friend.
  • Protecting a multi-generational farm where a husband was to retain the family farm and wife was to retire from the farming partnership.
  • Advising clients on financial settlements involving Farm Business Tenancies and Young Farmer Grants.
  • Working on Resolution Together matters, where couples consult the same lawyer together instead of taking legal advice separately.

Tamsin is an active member of Resolution; an organisation of family law professionals committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes.

In her spare time, Tamsin enjoys hosting dinner parties and is a member of a local netball team.
