Stephens Scown has celebrated new success in the latest Chambers and Partners High Net Worth Guide, with the firm newly ranked for Private Wealth Disputes in the South West and Partner Tamara Hasson recognised as an Up and Coming lawyer in the same category.
The annual guide identifies the leading lawyers and law firms working in private wealth. Rankings are determined through extensive independent research, including feedback from clients and specialist professionals across the sector.
The new Private Wealth Disputes ranking reflects the strength of the firm’s specialist Inheritance and Trust Disputes team and its work supporting high-net-worth individuals and families through complex, sensitive disputes involving wills, trusts and estates. Tamara’s individual recognition further underlines the team’s growing profile in this specialist area.
The results also recognise the continued strength of Stephens Scown’s Family and Private Client teams, with a number of lawyers maintaining their rankings following another successful year.
Andrew Barton heads Stephens Scown’s Family team and represents business owners and other high-net-worth individuals in divorce and financial remedy proceedings. Feedback highlighted his strategic approach, calm judgement, tenacity and ability to handle complex financial detail with clarity and pragmatism.
Sarah Atkinson, Partner and Head of Family Finance, has maintained her ranking for a third consecutive year. Her feedback recognised her technical knowledge, attention to detail and experience in complex financial remedy work, including matters involving trusts, nuptial agreements and international elements.
The firm’s Private Client team also achieved further success. Phil Reed retained his Band 1 ranking in Cornwall, while Tom Biddick maintained his Band 2 ranking in Exeter. Tom was recognised for his advice to high-net-worth clients across wills, estate administration and tax planning matters.
Client feedback highlighted Tom’s ability to respond quickly and practically, as well as his depth of experience in private client matters.
Within the newly ranked Private Wealth Disputes team, James Burrows, Partner and Head of Inheritance and Trust Disputes, retained his Band 2 ranking in the South West, while fellow Partner Tamara Hasson achieved her new Up and Coming ranking. Alongside fellow Partner Anna Garde-Evans, James and Tamara advise clients on a broad range of inheritance and trust disputes.
