Concept for: Stephens Scown shortlisted twice at Resolution Awards 2026

Stephens Scown’s Family team has received national recognition with two shortlistings at the 2026 Resolution Awards.

Associate Megan Eaton has been shortlisted for Legal Aid Practitioner of the Year, while the firm’s Family team has been recognised in the Working Together Award category.

The Resolution Awards celebrate professionals and teams making a positive difference to families through the family justice system, recognising excellence across the sector.

Megan’s shortlisting reflects her commitment to improving access to justice for vulnerable individuals and families. Working within the firm’s Family Children team, she supports clients through complex and often highly sensitive matters, combining technical expertise with a compassionate and practical approach.

Since qualifying, Megan has built a reputation for providing clear, supportive advice, securing urgent protective outcomes for clients and helping survivors of abuse navigate challenging legal situations. Her work demonstrates a strong commitment to ensuring fairness and access to justice for those who need it most.

The Family team’s nomination for the Working Together Award recognises its collaborative approach to supporting clients through significant life transitions.

Lawyers across the team regularly work alongside colleagues from Stephens Scown’s private client, corporate and immigration teams, as well as external professionals including accountants, financial advisers, actuaries, therapists and independent social workers. This multidisciplinary approach helps clients access the support and expertise they need while promoting constructive, non-court-based solutions wherever possible.

Andrew Barton, Head of Family Law at Stephens Scown, said:

“These shortlistings are fantastic recognition of the expertise, dedication and values that underpin our Family team.

“We are particularly proud that the nominations reflect not only individual excellence but also the collaborative culture that is such an important part of who we are as a firm. We know that the best outcomes for clients are achieved when people work together, sharing knowledge, experience and different perspectives to provide holistic support.

“Megan’s shortlisting is thoroughly deserved and reflects the skill, compassion and determination she brings to supporting vulnerable clients and improving access to justice. At the same time, the team’s nomination for the Working Together Award highlights the strength of our approach, combining expertise from across the firm and working closely with other professionals to help families navigate complex and often challenging circumstances.

“To be recognised in both categories is a wonderful achievement and a testament to the collaborative, client-focused culture that our people demonstrate every day.”

Both nominations reflect the team’s commitment to supporting families through challenging times and achieving positive outcomes for clients.

The winners will be announced at the Resolution Awards ceremony on 24 September 2026.
