Hayley is an Associate Solicitor in our Dispute Resolution Team specialising in Inheritance and Trust Disputes.

Hayley qualified in February 2011 and is an experienced civil litigator who has been working in this specialist area since qualification and has helped hundreds of families and individuals through these difficult cases. She gained a First Class Law Degree from Exeter University and passed her post-graduation Legal Practice Court (LPC) with distinction.

Hayley is a member of the Association of Contentious Probate & Trust Specialists (ACTAPS) and her specialist expertise includes:-

  • Claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family & Dependants) Act 1975;
  • Claims challenging the validity of Wills on the grounds of lack of testamentary capacity, undue influence, want of knowledge and approval and fraud/forgery;
  • Claims for a beneficial interest in property pursuant to the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (TOLATA) and Proprietary Estoppel;
  • Disputes between Executors or between Executors and Beneficiaries to include claims to remove Executors and for Breach of Trust.

Hayley is passionate about inheritance disputes and is experienced in the delicacy of skills required to fight her clients' corner for them at a time when they are at their most vulnerable, grieving the loss of their loved one. She has successfully concluded a high majority of cases by settlement (normally by mediation) but is also a tenacious advocate for her clients in the minority of cases which make it to trial.

She is a keen advocate of ADR, specifically mediation, which has great potential for resolving these claims to include resolution of disputes over items of sentimental importance, which the Courts cannot otherwise resolve.

Outside of work Hayley enjoys running and keeping fit, reading, films, spending time with family and friends and visiting her parents’ apartment in Spain.
