Sophie joined Stephens Scown in November 2025 as a Senior Associate in the Real Estate team’s specialist Property Development subgroup.
Qualifying in 2015 from a leading global law firm, Sophie continued working at City law firms in London before relocating to the South West in 2016.
Sophie has extensive experience across a broad range of commercial property matters and in recent years has specialised in development work. Her experience includes:
- acquisitions and disposals;
- corporate support and property financings; and
- development transactions, specifically residential, commercial, and energy matters.
Recent examples of her work include:
- Advising energy developers in securing strategic land for the National Energy System Operator (NESO) Gate 2 deadline.
- Advising an international food distributor on the disposal of its £multi-million UK HQ through a sale and leaseback arrangement.
- Acted for a PLC on numerous high value lettings, including the acquisition of a 26,000 square foot facility, with a complex transactional structure conditional on planning and works.
Sophie has spent time on secondment to the legal teams at On Tower UK Limited (part of the Cellnex group) and Tesco Plc.
Outside of work, Sophie enjoys running, coastal walks and making ceramics on her pottery wheel.
