Olivia joined Stephens Scown in August 2022 and is a qualified Trade Mark Attorney in our Intellectual Property, Data Protection and Technology team. She advises clients on trade mark and design protection and enforcement.
She graduated from the University of Exeter with an LLB Law degree and volunteered as a legal advisor for the university’s Access to Justice Clinic. Olivia achieved a first in her trade marks and patents exam and served as the events coordinator for the Commercial Awareness Society in her final year.
Since joining the firm, Olivia has:
- Managed UK and international trade mark and design filings for clients in sectors including food and drink, fashion, and entertainment.
- Advised on brand clearance and protection strategies, helping businesses launch new products with confidence.
- Supported opposition and invalidity proceedings before the UKIPO.
- Worked on negotiating co-existence and licence agreements, and drafting IP audits, ensuring clients maintain strong brand rights while avoiding disputes.
Olivia is also a member of the Creators Team, where she advises creators, brands, and talent management agencies on building and protecting their brand portfolios. She provides gap analyses, identifies opportunities for monetisation of intellectual property assets, and helps clients maximise the value of their brand. Olivia has a particular interest in fashion and beauty clients.
Outside of work, Olivia loves musicals, having attended Stagecoach – an academy for performing arts – for many years. She also keeps up to date with the latest trends in fashion and beauty.
