Megan is an associate in the Private Client team based in Truro. Megan joined Stephens Scown in 2017 and qualified in November 2019. She is an Associate Member of STEP.

Megan advises high net worth private individuals, families and business owners on wealth preservation and succession planning. Megan’s specialism is assisting clients in relation to inheritance tax planning and trust creation, administration and termination. In addition, Megan is also experienced in drafting complex Wills, to include tax effective trusts and solutions for complex blended families. She also assists clients in preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Examples of Megan’s recent work include:

• Advising a client who had recently sold his business on the most IHT effective options to maximise the likelihood of still being able to claim Business Property Relief on his death.
• Preparing Wills for farming clients to complement their Farming Partnership and family business arrangements, to ensure efficient transfer of assets between generations.
• Advising clients in relation to the termination of an unnecessary trust drafted into in a Will, meaning a large inheritance tax bill was avoided.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending time at the beach with her daughters and sausage dog.
