Marina joined Stephens Scown in May 2026, working as an Associate in the Inheritance and Trusts Disputes team.
Since qualifying in 2017, Marina has extensive litigation experience, assisting private and charity clients with legacy and probate issues.
Prior to joining Stephens Scown Marina also worked with legacy property and has worked on highly complex transactions which have maximised the value of legacies received by charities and individuals by significant sums, in some cases recovering millions of pounds that would otherwise have not been received.
Her areas of expertise include:
- Representing clients in respect of challenges and disputes relating to Wills and estates.
- Bringing and defending claims against estates under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
- Claims under the doctrine of proprietary estoppel.
- Advising on trustee and executor disputes.
- Claims against attorneys or personal representatives for fraud or financial abuse.
- Advising on disputes relating to powers of attorney.
- Disputes over the ownership of properties following the breakdown of a non-marital relationship.
Marina acts a trustee for a South West educational charity in her spare time.
Outside of work, Marina is a theatre critic, and with her young family enjoys getting out and about in the South West, going camping, and travelling abroad.
