Lexie became the firm’s first solicitor apprentice in 2019. She studied History at the University of Exeter, graduating in 2018 (BA Hons). Prior to joining Stephens Scown, Lexie assisted with the setting up of the Exeter University Law School in Cornwall.
As part of her apprenticeship, Lexie has undertaken a law degree with the University of Law and graduated in 2025 with a first-class honours degree. She passed SQE1 in July 2025 scoring in the highest quintile for both FLK1 and FLK2.
Lexie works in the Employment team. She is working towards qualification as a solicitor and is due to qualify in 2026.
Lexie’s areas of work include:
- Resolving disputes between businesses and employees both before and during Employment tribunal cases;
- Drafting settlement agreements on behalf of employers and employee clients and advising on the terms of the agreement; and
- Carrying out Employment legal research.
Lexie has experience in corporate, development, property litigation, commercial dispute resolution and inheritance and trust disputes. She is passionate about sustainability and spoke at Cornwall Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Spring Planet C Conference on the importance of utilising the law to promote and protect the environment.
Lexie was named as one of the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce’s 30 Under 30 class of 2023 and again in 2025. She was the recipient of the Trainee Lawyer of the Year at the Cornwall Law Society Awards 2023 and was named as Cornwall Chamber of Commerce’s Young Businessperson of the Year 2023.
She was an elected Stephens Scown trustee from 2021-2024 and has held the position of the University Representative for the Cornwall Junior Law Division since 2020. She is an assistant coach for both England Girls 18s and Senior Mixed Open Touch Rugby Teams, head coach for Southwest Saxons Women’s Open and head coach for Falmouth Ladies XV and Cornwall Girls 18s.
Outside of work Lexie spends a vast proportion of her time coaching and playing touch rugby. Lexie is a Harlequins fan and can often be found taking photos on coastal walks. She was named UK Coaching’s ‘Young Coach of the Year’ at the 2022 UK Coaching Awards and is a proud winner of a World Cup silver medal from the 2024 Touch Rugby World Cup.
