Henry joined Stephens Scown in August 2026 as a Senior Associate in the Real Estate team’s specialist Property Development subsector.  

Since qualifying as a solicitor in 2016, Henry has developed extensive experience across the full spectrum of commercial property matters and has in recent years specialised in development work. His experience includes: 

• Freehold and leasehold acquisitions and disposals 

• Property finance and refinancing transactions 

• Supporting corporate and commercial teams 

• Landlord and tenant matters, including leases, licences and ancillary agreements 

• Development transactions 

Henry has particular expertise in acting for developers and landowners throughout the lifecycle of development projects, from initial site acquisition through to infrastructure arrangements and the eventual sale of completed plots. 

Recent examples of his work include: 

• Acting for a developer on the acquisition of a collection of commercial buildings under a conditional contract, facilitating the delivery of 16 luxury homes. The transaction involved complex title issues, as well as challenging access and infrastructure considerations. 

• Negotiating a tripartite deed of easement with neighbouring landowners to secure drainage rights for a proposed residential development of up to 75 new homes. 

• Advising a developer on the acquisition of land for a 50-home residential scheme. The transaction was conditional upon, among other matters, a satisfactory archaeological report following the discovery of human and animal remains during initial trenching works adjacent to a church. 

• Acting for a District Council on the acquisition of development plots and negotiation of a development agreement to facilitate the construction of affordable rented homes as part of a large-scale residential development. 

Henry prides himself on becoming an integral part of his clients’ wider professional team, providing commercially focused advice and practical support from the earliest stages of a project through to completion. 

Outside of work, Henry is kept busy by his young family. Weekends are typically spent at swimming lessons, out on family walks, and enjoying more than the occasional ice cream.
