Becky is a Partner in our Intellectual Property, Data Protection, and Technology team, joining Stephens Scown in 2013.

She leads the specialist Trade Marks sub-team and oversees the Data Protection sub-team, including heading up the Redactions and DSARs team. Becky is widely recognised for her expertise in intellectual property and brand strategy, advising clients across diverse sectors on trade mark protection and enforcement in the UK and internationally.

Her work spans contentious and non-contentious IP matters and includes:

• The day-to-day management of large trade mark portfolios.
• Design rights and brand commercialisation strategies.
• Advising on commercial contracts, e-commerce, and terms and conditions.
• Helping businesses protect and maximise the value of their brands.

A qualified Chartered Legal Executive with a degree in the Study of Religions from Bath, Becky played a pivotal role in the landmark Thatchers v Aldi case, working alongside our specialist IP litigation team – a matter widely regarded as one of the most influential in recent years.

Beyond her client work, Becky provides strategic leadership within the firm, ensuring best practice in data governance processes such as DSAR handling and redactions. She is a member of our Training Panel, actively involved in shaping internal learning initiatives, and passionate about promoting inclusion, diversity, and widening access to the legal profession. Becky acts as mentor to apprentices and CILEX professionals, supporting career development and progression within the firm.

Outside of work, Becky is part of the firm choir, enjoys musicals and spending time with friends and family.
