Richard was appointed deputy managing partner in May 2018 as part of our succession planning [and will succeed Robert Camp as managing partner in May 2019].  Richard is an existing Board member and previously headed-up our Truro office where he oversaw growth of 100% over six years.

A real estate solicitor, he qualified in November 1992 and joined the firm in 1993. He specialises in the rural and mining & minerals sectors and deals predominately with complex property deals and development for his clients. Richard is also well known in region’s tourism sector as he launched the firm’s holiday parks’ team and is chairman of the judges for the Cornwall Tourism Awards.

His work includes:

  • helping a client to successfully refinance their farm and business whilst under pressure from their existing financiers
  • bringing about a successful sale of development land for a landowning client
  • advising and assisting on the sale of a large tenanted farm to an institutional investor
  • sorting through a succession issue on property for clients where the former solicitors could not process the matter

Richard is a member of the firm’s management board.

In his spare time Richard enjoys walking and gardening.
