Michael Hodgson is the People and Culture Director at Loadhog, a King’s Award winning Sheffield based employee owned company who design and manufacture innovative reusable packaging products aimed at making some of Europe’s largest organisations both leaner and greener.
Michael is also the former Chair of the GLIDE board, the company that represents all the shareholder members who work in its partner companies – including Loadhog and Gripple. Michael, in his own words, went quite quickly from being a fairly junior Communications Manager to being thrust into a position of Leadership upon his appointment to the Chair role.
Across his roles at Gripple, GLIDE and Loadhog, Michael has benefitted from the conditions they’ve cultivated to develop people – and since he experienced them, he has paid that forward to others by creating structures, experiences, visibility, training and responsibilities that help others develop.
How has that played out in practice? What can other businesses learn from this journey? And what are the ongoing challenges they are working to overcome?
Michael will be sharing the answers to these questions alongside his broader experience of employee ownership.
After Michael has shared his journey and reflections, we’ll then divide into small breakout rooms. This is an ideal opportunity to network with your peers, ask questions, and share advice from your own experience.
Join us for our informal knowledge share if you’re an employee trustee, on an employee council, an employee owner, or from an employee owned business with a vested interest, question to ask, or best practice to share.
