Employee Ownership Trust – Virtual Knowledge Share – A Fresh Perspective
Concept for - Employee Ownership Trust – Virtual Knowledge Share – A Fresh Perspective

Georgia Williams is the Digital & Creative Executive at Boardmans, a near 100-year old business first established in the heart of Manchester’s Hatting District who now have a vision to be the global leader in designing, sourcing, and supplying innovative accessories that elevate everyday style and living.

Georgia is also a member of the Employee Ownership Associations (eoa) Membership Council (EMC) who serve as the representative voice for the hundreds of eoa member businesses across the UK.

When she joined Boardmans, straight out of university, the business was already employee owned – but Georgia had never heard of it before and it’s fair to say the business themselves were not yet 100% on exactly all that it meant.

Through curiosity, engagement with the community and bringing a fresh perspective to the business, Georgia played an important role in aligning the businesses and her colleagues focus on what EO could be.

What did that change look and feel like in the business? What opportunity did EO provide for Georgia? And what are the ongoing opportunities Boardmans is trying to unlock?

Georgia will be sharing the answers to these questions alongside her broader experience of employee ownership.

After Georgia has shared her journey and reflections, we’ll then divide into small breakout rooms. This is an ideal opportunity to network with your peers, ask questions, and share advice from your own experience.

Join us for our informal knowledge share if you’re an employee trustee, on an employee council, an employee owner, or from an employee owned business with a vested interest, question to ask, or best practice to share.
