Stephens Scown sponsors TEDxExeter article banner image

Stephens Scown has announced that it is to be one of the sponsors of an inspiring event due to take place in Exeter in April next year.

TEDxExeter, which will take place on 15 April at the Exeter Northcott Theatre, is set to bring some of the world’s best thinkers to the city, with a theme of “Dreams to Reality”. The day will consist of a series of inspirational talks and performances on a wide range of topics. After the event videos of the talks will be online for anyone to watch.

This year’s event will build on the highly successful TEDxExeter in 2015. Tickets sold out in a record 22 minutes when they went on sale on 1 December, such is the anticipation surrounding the event! However, there is a waiting list for any tickets that may become available and the event will be publicly live-streamed on the day.

TEDxExeter is an independently-organised event, made possible by local volunteers who want to engage their communities. This year’s event will feature speakers and performance artists from the Exeter area and much further afield.

This will be the second year that Stephens Scown has been a sponsor.

Explaining the attraction of the event, Robert Camp, Stephens Scown’s managing partner said: “TEDx events have become hugely popular around the world as a way of bringing people together to spark discussion and debate – and TEDxExeter is no exception. This year’s event is set to be the biggest and best to date, and I hope that it will inspire, enthuse and delight, opening up new perspectives on important issues.  As a firm we are always looking to innovate, so we see a great fit between TEDxExeter and what we stand for.”

Claire Kennedy, curator and licensee for TEDxExeter added: “We couldn’t put on the very popular TEDxExeter without our sponsors, and we are very grateful to them for all their support. They have enabled us to double the reach of next year’s event. As well as the live performance in the Exeter Northcott Theatre, we will also be livestreaming to the nearby Alumni Auditorium. There will also be a number of viewing parties watching the livestream across the city and beyond.

“We have a fantastic line up of speakers planned for 2016, and will start announcing them at our sponsor launch in January.”
