Jackson joined Stephens Scown in September 2022 and works as a solicitor in the Business Finance Group which incorporates the Insolvency and Restructuring, and Banking and Finance teams. 

Acting for Insolvency Practitioners, Directors and Companies in respect of claims arising from, or transactions connected with, personal and corporate insolvency, his work includes: 

  • Pursuing and defending claims under the Insolvency Act 1986 and Companies Act 2006 
  • Assisting Directors in respect of the re-use of a prohibited name (section 216 IA 1986) 
  • Applying to Court to restore companies to the register 
  • Acting for officeholders in debt collection 
  • Distressed business sale and purchases 
  • Assisting officeholders in their duties as liquidators, administrators and receivers 

Additionally, he assists the firm’s Banking and Finance team with matters relating to corporate refinance, securitisation, debt restructuring, and individual lending, acting for both Borrowers and Lenders. 

He previously spent 12 months in the Insolvency and Restructuring team, six months in the Commercial Property team, and six months in the Intellectual Property and Data Protection team, as part of his training contract. 

After graduating from the University of Exeter where he studied Law, Jackson completed the Legal Practice Course with LLM at the University of Law achieving a distinction. 

Outside of work Jackson enjoys reading, playing in the firm’s six-a-side football team, golf, and exploring Devon’s countryside.
