Spousal maintenance is ongoing payments from one spouse to the other to ensure their income needs can be met. The level of spousal maintenance will be stipulated in a financial order, as will the duration for which the spousal maintenance will be payable. Spousal maintenance will cease upon the occurrence of specific trigger events referred to within the Order.
