The First Directions Appointment (FDA) is the first court hearing in financial cases. At this hearing the Judge will decide, by setting a timetable for directions, what financial information each party needs to provide, and by when, to ensure informed negotiations can take place at the next hearing (the Financial Dispute Resolution hearing (FDR). This might include valuations or instructing joint experts.
