Employees perform functions within a business to contribute towards the success of that business. But employees are people and people are complex. If your employees experience alienation from their work then they may feel disconnected, disengaged, undervalued and lacking purpose. None of these feelings manifest as positive contributions to the success of the business, in fact the opposite – and for those people themselves their wellbeing will be negatively impacted.
When the opposite is true, people can find meaning in their work, they can feel a sense of belonging, and they are more favourably equipped to support in the success of their business. So, where does employee ownership fi t in? Recent research undertaken at the University of West of England, Bristol Business School, by Mario Vafeas and Ed Little has explored this exact phenomenon.
Mario, Professor of Marketing, and Ed, Associate Head of Department, at the University of West of England, join our July EO Knowledge Share to share their research and the key learning outcomes and considerations.
Following Mario and Ed’s presentation we will then divide into breakout rooms.
Join us for our informal knowledge share if you are an employee trustee, on an employee council, an employee owner, or from an employee-owned business with a vested interest, question to ask, or best practice to share.
