Amy is an associate in the Intellectual Property, Data Protection and Technology team. As well as specialising in intellectual property and technology law, Amy has expertise in Influencer marketing law and the regulation of the same.

Amy heads up the IP team’s IP Audit offering, which consists of fully reviewing a business’ intellectual property position, identifying any risks, concerns and making recommendations to address the same. Amy can also work with businesses to identify whether there is funding available for the IP Audit report and if so, whether the business is eligible.

In relation to Amy’s influencer marketing law specialism; Amy works with clients assisting and advising on both the legal ramifications and the inherent reputational risk of getting Influencer marketing wrong. Amy is passionate about ensuring that brands, agencies, and influencers have comprehensive contracts in place to avoid a “contract via DMs (direct messaging) scenario” and to ensure that the parties are sufficiently protected. Influencer marketing is a rapidly evolving area and Amy understands the social media platforms themselves, as well as the relevant laws and regulatory codes concerning the same.

Amy is listed in the Insider magazine’s 2023 Future Leaders article as a Rising Star in the professional services sector. Amy was also included in the 2021 #TalkingInfluence50 list and was a guest speaker at the Influencer Marketing Show London 2021 and Influencer360 2022, focusing on image licensing rights in the influencer industry.

Amy read Law at the University of Exeter and completed her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law. Amy joined Stephens Scown in July 2018 and undertook her training contract at the firm, gaining experience in Intellectual Property, Information Technology and Data Protection, Divorce Finance, Property Litigation and Commercial Dispute Resolution. Amy qualified as a solicitor in 2020.
