As the name suggests, the Associate Parliamentary Minerals Group (APMG) is a grouping of MPs who wish to raise awareness within Parliament of the vital role that minerals play in our day to day lives and to highlight the significance of the minerals industry to the UK economy.
Its 'mission statement' is "to promote paliamentary awareness of the importance of minerals, provide information on developments in mineral usage, policy and regulation and to act as an information exchange between paliamentarians and industry".
The APMG has now launched a newsletter, which it expects will be circulated widely at Westminster.
