Nationality and Citizenship

British Citizenship and Nationality law is extremely complex. Depending on your current citizenship or nationality, and your present immigration status, you may be able to apply for British Citizenship.

Our specialist immigration team can advise you of the steps that may be available to you in order for you to acquire British citizenship and other forms of British nationality.

There are six different forms of British nationality, of which British citizenship is one. Only British citizens have an automatic right to live and work in the United Kingdom, and to apply for a British passport.

We are able to advise you whether you need to apply for Naturalisation or Registration as a British Citizen, when to apply and where to apply. We can also assist with the preparation of your application and advise you about any fees that are payable.

We will tell you about what documentation you will need to submit with your application and keep you advised about forthcoming changes to the law. Please contact our Immigration team for more information.
