About
Scott has extensive experience in commercial property matters of all types but especially reflecting the South West economy. Thus he has expertise in matters relating to mining and minerals, not least because he had sole conduct of the sale of the last working tin mine in Europe.
Scott also has extensive experience of the restoration/reclamation and re-use of brownfield land, particularly former mining sites.
He has an established track record in dealing with rural property matters, having acted for a wide range of farmers and landowners. This includes a number of Cornish landed estates, currently exceeding 14,000 acres in aggregate.
As a result of acting both in regard to brownfield reclamation projects and for landowners, he has developed a particular expertise in the property and commercial aspects of renewable energy projects. This currently includes wind power, solar parks, rooftop solar, biomass and geothermal schemes. He is particularly proud of having had involvement in the redevelopment of Wheal Jane Mine near Truro, including in regard to its recently commissioned Solar Park and other prospective renewable energy schemes.
He has also, incidentally, acted for a number of healthcare sector clients, having particular knowledge of NHS LIFT Scheme developments.
Many of his transactional matters have involved providing property law support on corporate deals.
