Absence and Performance Management
Sickness absence can disrupt the smooth running of any organisation, whether it’s large or small and particularly where absences are either frequent or lengthy.
On occasion, sickness is caused by or is a symptom of a disability. Where this happens, we can advise you about how this absence is treated. At other times, absences are unauthorised or are not due to genuine illness. In these circumstances, the absences can be dealt with through “capability” procedures and we can help you with this every step of the way.
Similarly in cases of an employee performing poorly, capability procedures can be used to monitor, evaluate and improve this. Where improvement is not achieved, the procedure can be used to discipline and/or dismiss the employee.
