Building and Construction Disputes

Even with the best will in the world, contractors, developers and other building industry professionals have to deal with disputes from time to time. Construction itself is a hugely complex and time-consuming business and you’ll want to make sure that the project is the priority, without attention being diverted by legal issues.

At Stephens Scown, our teams of specialists know how to resolve building and contractual disputes, including those that come from breaches of construction contracts. We can advise on standard form contracts, such as JCT contracts and also on legislation such as the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996.

By getting the right advice at an early stage, it can save a lot of time and money later on. We’ll be able to guide you in the right direction when it comes to resolving matters. If alternative dispute resolution is not right or unsuccessful, we’ll look at other options, such as arbitration, adjudication, expert determination and the issue of court proceedings.
