Stephens Scown LLP’s residential property team has received the Law Society’s seal of approval under its Conveyancing Quality Scheme (CQS), it has been announced.
The accreditation is only given to a handful of legal firms in Devon and Cornwall who can demonstrate the highest industry standards when it comes to the process of buying and selling homes.
Solicitors working for Stephens Scown LLP, which has offices in Exeter, Truro and St Austell, have to undertake appropriate training and development every year to become a member of the scheme.
The firm has a dedicated team of lawyers to provide specialist legal advice in relation to the conveyancing of residential property.
Alison Nicholls, head of Stephen Scown’s residential property team, said: “To have achieved this status and level of credibility means that clients can be assured that they will receive the highest standards of service and legal expertise available when it comes to buying or selling their home.
“There is often so much to think about when purchasing a property and knowing that your solicitor is a member of this scheme is one less thing to have to worry about – we can explain the steps they need to take, the service and costs they can expect and keep them informed about the process.”
CQS qualified solicitors must agree to a code of conduct which includes treating the client fairly, being polite and professional, responding promptly to enquiries, informing the client about any problems as soon as they arise and asking for feedback on their service.
